INVESTIGATIONS will continue today into a former shop in Selkirk being used as a cannabis farm - for the SECOND time.

Officers raided the premises on Curror Street, close to the town's Knowepark Primary School, yesterday after reports of strong smells.

Police wearing white forensics overalls spent several hours in the flat above the former Ali Baba store.

And it is understood that cannabis plants worth a six-figure sum were removed.

Police Scotland sealed off the building and investigations will continue this morning.

The same building was used as a cannabis farm three years ago.

Vietnamese illegal immigrant Hang Phan Vo was jailed for three years for his part in the operation.

Edinburgh Sheriff Court was told how the 23-year-old climbed down into the store through a hole in the flat's flooring to tend to around 500 plants, worth between £54,000 and £108,000 if sold wholesale or more than £150,000 if sold in smaller deals.
