LOCAL MPS will be today be involved as the Brexit story takes on a new chapter.

Last night's vote in Parliament saw the deal tabled by Prime Minister Theresa May defeated by 432 votes to 202 but Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn then lodged a vote of no confidence in the Premier's Government.

So that will lead to a vote tonight, thought to go ahead at 7pm, to decide on Mr Corbyn's move.

Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath MP Lesley Laird; Glenrothes member and Cardenden and Kinglassie MP, Peter Grant and Douglas Chapman, Dunfermline West including Crossgates, Hill of Beath and Moss-side, all voted against the deal.

So it is now on to phase two, tonight's 'vote of no confidence in the Government'.

All three can be expected to vote for Mr Corbyn's motion, but it is expected to be a struggle for him to get it accepted as the DUP and 100 plus Tories who voted against the deal are all expected to vote with the Government this time.

But it will be a hectic day at Westminster as excitement builds towards tonight's vote.
