A personal injury claim against a man after an alleged ‘hit and run’ incident outside a Preston mosque has been dismissed.

The case against Bashir Kidiwala, of Blackburn by Siraz Ahmed Patel, of Preston was dismissed at the Civil Court in Burnley Crown Court.

The court found that the claimant, Mr Patel had not prove his claim regarding injury and dismissed his claim.

The claim relates to an incident on 23 July 2014 during Ramadan when Mr Patel was leaving the Noorani Education Centre on Garstang Road, Fulwood after Taraweeh prayers.

Mr Kidiwala drove off and was later asked to return to the scene by police after claims that he had ‘run over’ the defendant. A police investigation after the incident also absolved Mr Kidiwala.

Mr Patel was ordered to pay the defendant’s full costs of the proceedings.
