Tributes have been paid to one of Bollywood's most iconic actors

Kader Khan died in hospital in Canada at the age of 81 following a long illness.

Khan was known the world over for his comedic roles during the eighties and nineties.

Born in Kabul Khan made his debut in 1973 and acted in over 300 films and wrote dialogues for nearly 250 films.

He appeared in some of Indian cinema's most memorable films including Naseeb and Coolie opposite Amitabh Bachchan.

Tributes were paid by fellow actors and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
