BRASS bands, pipe bands and buskers braved the cold, harsh conditions at the weekend to serenade visitors to Haworth.
The event was part of the town’s Victorian Christmas weekends leading up to Christmas with activities and organised events taking place.
Several bands from as far away as Drighlington and Hebden Bridge went along on to play along the Main Street and there were pipe bands taking part from Leeds and Bradford.
Busker James Hutton, a trained opera singer, was joining in the festivities to raise money for the Baptist Church kitchen fund.
Elsewhere, an event organised through the Sue Ryder charity at the top of the Main Street included a tombola and Santa’s grotto.
One of the organisers, Claire Foster, who runs Hawksby’s craft gallery said the atmosphere was wonderful despite the weather.
“Today was really bitterly cold and wet but the players still came and entertained everyone. There were quite a few people about to enjoy the music in the lead up to Christmas."
