The Sky Sharma Foundation annual fundraising dinner and dance aimed to raise awareness of Mental Health this year. 

Depression and anxiety are the most common mental health problems in the poor and disadvantaged people, who are greatly affected by mental health problems. 

Guests were welcomed by Salman Malik who then introduced  SSF Founder and Director Neelam Sharma.

Mrs Sharma explained the mission of Sky Sharma Foundation which has been set up to provide guidance and support to individuals who are struggling with their mental health, whilst working to break down the stigma and taboo of mental health struggle that exists in the minority communities. 

This year SSF have carried out a total of 17 events including schools’ interactive workshops and community events which has helped us create the much-needed awareness.

Following this the Mayor of Redbridge Debbie Kaur-Thiara were invited to say a few words about the foundation and the cause. 

During the evening a raffle draw was held, where the Mayor Debbie Kaur Thiara handed out the winning prizes to the winners. 

The guests were served a three-course meal whilst they enjoyed the live music entertainment by DJ Dipz Entertainment & Smashup Bhangra group from Birmingham, followed by dancing. 

The fundraising event was a great success for SSF £2178.00 were raised for our mission.
