A 13-YEAR-OLD boy and three men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Emergency services were called to Rhyl Avenue, Blackburn, shortly after 10.30pm on Tuesday following reports of a brawl in the street.

Several people were found injured and a 24-year-old man and 43-year-old man were taken to hospital in serious condition.

Three men, aged 36, 38 and 62 and a 13 year old boy from Blackburn have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. All four remain in custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Pauline Stables has pledged to increase patrols in the area following the incident.

She said: “We understand that this will cause some concern for people living in the area.

"I’d like to reassure you that while this is shocking and very serious, we are treating it as an isolated incident. We do not believe there is any threat to the wider public and we have increased patrols in the area."

Two police vans were parked up on Rhyl Avenue and officers cordoned off the road, including six houses earlier this morning.

A 30-year-old resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “I came back from work after 11pm and there were lots of police cars and vans about.

”It was shocking to see so many police cars, it is normally a quiet area.

”I have grown up with them all that live there.”

Another resident said: “I had just come home in a taxi from work when I heard some screams.

”Some people were running to try to help. There was blood everywhere on the ground. It was a vicious attack that was uncalled for.

"They are a well-to-do family and something like this is outrageous.

”I heard that one of the people was walking when he was jumped by a group of people and his dad went out to try to help and he was hurt too. We are just hoping they are all alright and can pull through.”
