A THREE vehicle smash on a motorway caused long delays this morning after two lanes were blocked off.
The crash occurred on the M62 Westbound, adjacent to its Junction 23 entry slip road.
Both lane two and three were blocked, with delays of around 45 minutes between the accident site and Junction 26 at its height.
Recovery work has now been completed and the motorway is fully open.
But there may be some residual delays.
One of the vehicles involved was a red Skoda Superb which sustained significant damage to its left-rear side.
The left back corner was completely crumpled and the back bumper was hanging off.
Another vehicle involved was a DAF truck.
The right-front corner of the truck was smashed with part of the vehicle's mechanics exposed.
