Firefighters from across the Bradford district have been tackling a moorland fire that erupted near Bingley this afternoon.

Crews from Keighley, Ilkley, Bingley, Fairweather Green, Shipley and Illingworth were all called to Rombald's Moor, off Otley Road, Bingley, just after 2pm.

A large area of the moorland between Bingley and Ilkley is involved in the fire, and fire crews have been using a large jet, a blower, three beaters and a fire fogging unit to try and douse the the flames.

Large swathes of the moor have been destroyed by the fire, which has now been brought under control by firefighters and stopped from spreading further.

Fire crews were still at the scene at 5pm on the picturesque moor.
