A teenager was chased into a cafe by a man wielding an axe.
olice said the man sought refuge in Chaiiwala, Blackburn, as he was being chased down Whalley Range.
He later got into a car with his would-be attacker and drove off. He was later found unharmed and detectives have launched an investigation.
No arrest has been made.
A police spokesman said: "We are investigating an incident in which an 18-year-old man was chased along Whalley Range, Blackburn, last night (Monday September 10).
"He ran into Chaiiwala to take refuge but was followed and threatened with an axe. He has then left the premises with the person that was chasing him and has driven off in a car with that person.
"He was located safely some time later."
Witnesses can call police on 101.
