AN annual awards event celebrating the business contributions of ethnic minorities will return for its fifth year this month.
The Yorkshire Asian Business Association (YABA) awards are to take place at Bradford’s Cedar Court on September 27.
The event was specifically created to recognise the contribution that Asian businesses make to both the regional and UK economy.
Research published by the Confederation of Business Industry (CBI) shows the British Asian community generates around 10 per cent of the country’s GDP.
Noor Ali, Category Manager of World Food at Morrison’s and also a judge on the awards’ panel, said: “Last year we received a large volume of strong nominations. The judges were faced with some difficult decisions.”
The YABA award entries are still open with a number of categories available from Emerging Entrepreneur to International Business of the Year.
