Asian professional organisation BritBangla has re-launched with 'a new direction and new vision'.

BritBangla, was originally set up in 2002 to for British Bengalis professionals to network, share ideas and provide a positive environment for community growth.

BritBangla will now aim to be a forum 'to develop leadership and empowerment to advancing  the dynamic Bengali community to prepare for the rise in  today’s world vast opportunities for growth and build its leaders of industry'.

Taryn Khanam BEM CEO of BritBangla said, “Leadership must develop to meet the future needs.

"With globalisation, technology and climate change we need leaders that are innovative and to create a sustainable future.  BritBangla will support the development of leaders to integrate and position itself within UK and globally.”  

A new dynamic board will work closely to drive the vision and will include,  Rini Lasker (Director, UBS); Zacharias Miah (Barrister, ASW6 Chambers);  Monir Ali (Photographer /Media Entrepreneur ); Moinal Haque (Youth/Community Consultant), Dinar Hossain (Public Servant) and Jannat Tania (AVP Project Analyst, Bank of America).   

As part of the launch, presentations were delivered by inspirational and award winning entrepreneurs.  

Rini Lasker, Board member said, “BritBangla will be a platform for future leaders and change makers. It’s important to develop voices for the diverse members of the community.”   
 
BritBangla announced its future initiatives these include; Leadership Mentoring programme, Internship programme for university undergraduates/graduates and the Chai Latte Club (women’s empowerment group).
