Scottish model Madiha Iqbal says she is looking forward to representing the British Isles at the Miss World Pakistan pageant in Canada.

The pageant started in 2002 and aims to bring together the youth of Pakistanis living abroad as well as from Pakistan.

Madiah is the current Miss United Scotland and has also been crowned Miss Progress Scotland, Miss Aberdeen and Face of Aberdeen.

She said, “I am overwhelmed to have been offered the chance to compete on an international basis for the title of Miss World Pakistan. “I have already won regional and national titles so this opportunity is the next step for me in my pageant journey.

“Winning a world class crown would be a lifetime dream come true and it would be an honour to not just represent Pakistan but Scotland too.”

She added, “I have been working extremely hard to prepare for this pageant. Winning the title would mean so much to me, not just to myself but I want to do it for the nation and young girls that look up to me.

“I want to be a good role model for the younger generation and Pakistani's around the world.”

The event takes place over four days and will be held in Toronto.
