Whilst Brexit campaigners would have you believe the referendum is about sovereignty we know the real reasons.

In case you have been on the moon or in a coma of some sort you may have failed to notice that The Referendum on Europe takes place on June 23. Over the past few weeks I have listened to countless arguments and counter-arguments about the European Union.

Much of it doesn’t make sense to the average voter who is likely to be swayed by one thing and one thing alone – immigration. Let’s just face it this referendum is essentially about immigration.

It is about these apparent ‘hoards’ of migrants heading our way to take over this green and pleasant land.

To stop these hoards we need to vote to keep the UK out of Europe. The big problem Brexit have is that the supporters are perceived as ‘a bunch of right-wingers’.

And don’t mention this nonsense about – ‘you should be allowed to talk about immigration without being called a racist’. The problem is, a huge section of those that do tend to bark on about it also tend to have feelings of hatred for foreigners.

It was same a hundred years and it will be same in the year 2116. Don’t kid us and try to dress this up any other way. T

The long list of Brexit campaigners is headed by Nigel Farage.  And we should stop there really.

The others including all the newspapers and columnists backing them are the same people who have for years demonised ethnic minorities. Strangely enough with this vote on the horizon we ethnic minorities matter now.

For years we have had to put up with bogus headlines, articles and features which did nothing more than to sensationalise threats from foreigners.

Brexit did offer us Priti Patel MP in the hope that this diaspora champion will in some way sway our votes.

Boris Johnson and Priti Patel meet workers at clothing and uniform manufacturers Simon Jersey in Accrington, Lancashire, during a visit as part of the Vote Leave EU referendum campaign.

But we became even more incensed with a woman who’s parents left Uganda to make a home in a new country wants to make sure the next generation don’t have the same opportunities.

We Asians find nothing more infuriating when we meet other Asians who all of a sudden are more right-wing than right-wingers. It puzzles us and annoys us at the same time.

We want to make some sense out of it but we can’t. Of course we can’t discount the fact the Stronger In backers may not be completely desirable. In fact the vote is making us fall out of love with politics in a whole new way.

But the fact remains –Brexit is all about immigration and making a set of people who never even came across any migrants feel that they have in some way stuck two fingers up at the establishment.

Can’t wait for June 23.
