Seeing as new artist San2 has been receiving a lot of positive publicity with regards to his single ‘Nayo Lagda’ lately, it was time to see what all the fuss is about.

The first thing that caught me about the song was that at first, it sounded like a Qawwali but as it kicked in was a bit too upbeat compared to the heart-breaking, gut-wrenching Qawwali’s we all know.

Therefore it feels more like a cross between a Qawwali and a 90’s Bollywood song and if you haven’t heard ‘Nayo Lagda’, it may be difficult to imagine what I am saying but it has worked so well in this track that I believe this could bring in a new wave of music from the younger artists of today.

That is not to say everyone will be able to replicate his style as it is San2’s amazing vocal skills and the well-produced music that is what is making this track so successful.

MY Verdict: At the age of 22, San2 really is displaying great natural vocal talent in Nayo Lagda and I look forward to hearing what he follows it up with. Make sure you download this song as it is can be listened to no matter what mood you are in.
