A new law could mean Muslim husbands will have to sit with their wives at weddings.
Today, Home Secretary Theresa May called for Muslims to do more to tackle extremism in their midst there and there had been concerns about ‘segregation’ at Muslim events.
Some Muslim weddings tend to be segregated but that could well be a thing of the past as the UK looks to get tough on those who ‘"reject our values".
The news is going to come as a huge shock to the community, because as well as getting served first only non-Asian couples tend to be seated together at Asian weddings.
Ash Mumtaz, a father of three who regularly attends weddings but never sits with his wife said, “She doesn’t sit on the same sofa with me at home and now the government wants me to make a public display of affection? It is disgraceful.”
