Dear Massi, My wife eats so many carbs and has put on so much weight since we got married.
She eats like a teenage boy. She has put on four stones since our wedding. She eats chips wrapped in naan.
She even eats rice and curry wrapped in chapatti.
I feel like a skeleton next to her.
Instead of trying to lose weight, she has spent a fortune buying herself ‘fat clothes.’
I feel embarrassed taking her out as people stare at us.
Her family and my family make constant jokes.
She just shrugs it off, but it has got to the stage where I don’t want to be seen in public with her.
Massi says, It is understandable that you are concerned about your wife’s weight gain.
However, your attitude towards her is rather demeaning and negative. Take a united approach by suggesting that you both exercise or go for walks together.
Perhaps you can both cook healthy meals together so you are both eating the same food.
Ultimately, it is up to your wife if she would like to lose weight and any pressure from you may have an adverse effect.
