A man will appear in court today accused of possessing material likely to be of use to a terrorist.
Ahmed Faraz, 30, who was arrested by the West Midlands counter-terrorism unit in Birmingham last week, is due before City of Westminster Magistrates Court.
Faraz, from Sparkhill, Birmingham, was charged last night with a number of counts of possessing material likely to be of use to a terrorist, contrary to the Terrorism Act 2000.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said the defendant had also been charged under the 2006 Terrorism Act with a number of counts of distributing terrorist publications.
