Dance impressario Honey Kalaria,is to appear on the BBC show, ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ this weekend.
For the forthcoming show, Honey has taught a Bollywood routine to five of the best female dancers in the UK.
Audiences will be able to see the dancers’ journey from being trained in the art form to finally performing it.
Honey worked closely with show producer Gareth Davies and his team to prepare a Bollywood routine for the group to perform in front of the judging panel and the studio audience.
She said, “It has been a great experience as I love being creative and artistic, and working with a fantastic team at the BBC has made it even more fun - from researchers to stylists right through to rehearsal coordinators and camera men.
"All the dancers I worked with were extremely friendly, pleasant and worked hard to pick up the Bollywood style. You will just have to wait and watch to see how they perform!”
The best of the best choreographers from the industry have been invited to choreograph various dance routines for ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ so that the audience can enjoy a range of dance styles which will be performed by the ten shortlisted dancers.
Honeyfounded Honey’s Dance Academy (HDA) in 1991. Since its inception, the dance academy has grown to over 13 London Studios and has cast its dance students in major film, TV and stage roles in the likes of Harry Potter, BBC Proms, Jamie Oliver’s Oliver Twist, Bombay Dreams and blockbuster Bollywood movies such as Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
