If you think you can dance Bollywood style then you might want to enter 'Bollywood Factor'.

Honey’s Dance Academy will be discovering the next Bollywood superstar in the making with its X-Factor style audition process – Bollywood Factor.

Launched earlier this month Bedford budding Bollywood dancers auditioned to win their place in UK Bollywood Dance Championships 2010 with the chance of winning a part in major Bollywood film.

Along the way, talented contestants will be given the chance to be cast in other film and TV opportunities based on their performances during the auditions. Bollywood Factor and UK Bollywood Dance Championships 2010 is spearheaded by Bollywood Dance Queen Honey Kalaria who is the Founder of Honey’s Dance Academy (HDA).

Since its inception in 1999, the dance academy has grown to over 13 London Studios and has cast its dance students in major film, TV and stage roles in the likes of Harry Potter, BBC Proms, Jamie Oliver’s Oliver Twist, Bombay Dreams and blockbuster Bollywood movies such as Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.

Honey said, “You don’t have to be a dance professional to audition. We’re looking for students with passion, creativity and stage presence who we can train in different styles of Bollywood and Bhangra dance”

The first audition saw a myriad of performers across all ages, regions and backgrounds audition for Honey Kalaria and a panel of Bollywood’s top choreographers.

Their aim was to search out new dance talents that possess the passion, drive and determination to make it as a top Bollywood star.

Some of the lucky entrants and budding talent included 18-year-old Polish Interiors and Architecture student, Karina Gniazdowska, from Reading and 23-year-old assistant baker, Ifzzal Hussain, who travelled from Birmingham. She added, "I was absolutely amazed to see the wealth of talent that we have in the UK. The aim was to discover the stars of tomorrow and offer training, mentoring or put candidates forward for roles that we are currently casting for.

"I congratulate all those who attended the auditions even in these adverse weather conditions, as this is the kind of dedication and passion we are looking for. I am pleased to say that we found a few gems that we feel we can polish and turn into diamonds".

Open to all skill levels, the Honey’s Dance Academy has taken novice dancers and trained them to perform on the most glamorous of stage and film sets.

With Bollywood ever growing in popularity and now reaching global audiences, the appeal to learn and perform in the Bollywood arts has attracted students from all cultural backgrounds – something HDA strongly encourages.
