Father and son Hashmat and Ferrari Faqiri have both made it on to the finalists list for this year's British Asian Sports Awards.
Ferrari is in the Junior Sports Personality of the year section.
Featured on these sports pages numerous times over the years he is presently the British Shotokan Kyogi International Champion 2007 (BSKI), International Traditional Karate Association (ITKA) Champion and European Martial Arts Lancashire (EMA) Champion.
The past year has been very special for the youngster and he has come away with 27 medals from a whole host of international and national competitions.
His father, Hashmat is the First British Asian to coach at the Karate Junior Olympics - USA and is in the Coach of the year section.
As well as coaching Hashmat's martial arts club is attended by youngsters of all ages from all backgrounds.

He is up against Rasal Randhawa who has Coached youngsters at all levels - International and World Class. He will be taking part in 2008 Olympics and preparing for Commonwealth Games in 2010 and the Olympics in London in 2012.
And Baminton coach Thomas John is also amongst teh finalists. He has worked with national champions and World Class players since 1999. He also coached a silver medallist at Commonwealth Games 2006.
