Bradford boxer Saira Tabasum packed a punch at the official opening of an exhibition highlighting women’s role in the sport.
‘Girls in the Ring’, by Hull photographer Lee Karen Stow, includes images of female boxers from across the region as well as members of the women’s boxing team in Sierra Leone, West Africa.
Miss Stow became interested in women’s boxing while working in Sierra Leone where she photographed women training for the qualifying rounds of the 2012 Olympics.
On her return home she joined a boxing gym and trained for six months with female boxers.
The opening event at Hand Made in Bradford included live sparring in a temporary boxing ring.
The exhibition runs until Saturday, July 28.
