Surrey have confirmed the signing of left-arm spinner Murali Kartik for the 2012 season.
The former India international, 35, has become an established face in county cricket after spells with Lancashire, Middlesex and most recently Somerset.
He will be available for the full duration of the season in all three formats as Surrey look to add to a spin department already containing the experienced Gareth Batty and youngsters Zafar Ansari and Matthew Spriegel.
Surrey team director Chris Adams said: "Murali Kartik is a proven wicket-taker in English conditions and will add another dimension to our bowling attack. Having someone of Kartik's quality on board for the entirety of next season will be a great boost."
Kartik added: "I am very happy to be signing for Surrey for the next English season. They are one of the biggest domestic sides in the world game and I hugely look forward to playing my cricket at an iconic ground like the Kia Oval."
