Players and supporters gave a standing ovation to Eddie and Sylvia Hart as they retired as from the Blackburn and District Cricket League.
Eddie will stand down as League secretary this year. Assisted by wife Sylvia, Eddie has been involved with the league for over four decades. Eddie will continue as an umpire though.
The evening was hosted by Chairman Zahoor Waghat and awards presented by Cllr Damian Talbot A Division champs: Gujrat CC; Runners-up Blackburn Eagles. Batting Award: M Siddique (Eagles) 15 innings, 682 runs, Average of 56; Bowling Award: M Rizwan (Eagles) 82 Overs, 38 Wickets.
B Division Champs: All Stars; runners-up Bharuch CC. Batting award: S Anwar (Super XI’s) 13 Innings, 497 runs; Average 55; Bowling Award: M Jhangir: 87 Overs 41 wickets.
Sports Council Cup: Winners Brookhouse CC; Runners-up Gujrat. Man of the Match Irfan Motala (Brookhouse) David Pratt Batting Award: S Anwar 149 not out.
