The Mayor of Pendle, Cllr. Nadeem Ahmed was guest of honour at the Annual Pendle and District Cricket League awards night.

Cricketer Pankhaj Tripathy was the guest speaker on the night who spoke about his his early cricketing life and identified some gaps in the facilities provided by the local authorities for the sport of cricket.

Whitefield won the triple this year winning 20 out of their 22 games. Rehan Aslam Butt, Captain said “I am proud of the boy’s performance that showed just how much they wanted this win.

Individual prizes included; Pemberton cup final Man of the Match Umar Siddique, with unbeaten 139 runs; Batsman of the Year Ali Kazmim with 490 runs; Bowler of the year Ikram Butt with 28 wickets; Batsman of the year (u21) Nabeel Ahmed 322 runs; Bowler of the year (u21) Asif Razzaq 15 wickets; Best bowling performance Ikram Butt; Best Batting performance Saeed Rehman; Man of the tournament Nasir Mehmood.
