Hamayoon Kasser has won the English Full Contact Kickboxing title.
The 13-year-old, who fights out of the Fit2Fight Kickboxing Club, Accrington, beat defending champion Danny Swanick at Kelham Hall in Nottingham.
The Accrington teenager, who boasts a record of 18 fights and three defeats, upset the odds to beat the more experienced Swanick who had won 25 of his 30 bouts.
Hamayoon bossed the five, two-minute round contest and rightly got the judges’ decision.
“Hamayoon is a great little fighter,” said head coach Bill Batttrick. “I’ve been training him since he was six-years-old and he deserves this title.
“You just can’t fault his commitment and I don’t know anyone else who works so hard, he is up at the club nearly every day training.
“But all the hard work paid off after he beat the reigning champion and a fighter who was more experienced and had more fights under his belt.”
The Back Wellington Street club recently hosted a major kick boxing event at the New Era club which included 40 bouts involving fighters from across the North West.
