ORGANISERS of a Bradford City supporters' group's first community day have confirmed it will now become an annual event after proving a success.

The Bangla Bantams Community Day saw more than 500 people attending Valley Parade from as far afield as Wales and London.

The event included Bradford United Veterans beating 2-1 BFA UK Veterans (London) in the West Riding County FA Vets Cup 2016.

The Bangladeshi Football Association (UK) Championship Final saw Newark FC (London) defeat Leeds One Formation 1-0 and the first Fans For Diversity Cup between Bangla Bantams lost 4-2 to Bengal Dragons (Wales).

Event organiser and Bangla Bantams chairman Humayun Islam said: "It was a massive success, it was amazing.

"It was a huge celebration of football and diversity.

"We will be doing the community day on a yearly basis now. It was a fantastic turnout for the first event.

"People loved playing on the pitch at Valley Parade and they now have that great memory to take with them."

"It brought everybody together from different communities and it shows what can be achieved.

"Hopefully the event has also helped build a bigger fanbase for Bradford City."
