The first ever Junior Asian Championships held at Nelson FC proved to be a hit.

The tournament was kindly sponsored by Arif Hajj And Umrah Services, which is also based in Pendle.

The event was organised by Nelson FC and Fishwick Rangers and saw local county councillors and town councillors including Clr Mohammed Iqbal, Clr Azhar Ali and Imam Khalid in attendance.

The tournament kicked off at 10am starting with Under 7s and U8s which saw Blackburn United claim the first winners trophy winning the Under 7s final while AHF FC also from Blackburn clinched the U8s.

The Under 9s category saw Fishwick Rangers win their first trophy of the day before an impressive West Brom Stars side won the U10s. AHF FC won the U11s while Fishwick also went on to win their 2nd trophy of the day in the U12s age group. 

The final game of the tournament saw Burnley based Daneshouse FC claim the U13s title to bring a close to a superb day at Victoria Park.
