The Lancashire Cricket Board (LCB) are the National Governing Body for cricket in Lancashire, based out of Emirates Old Trafford and linked to Lancashire County Cricket Club (LCCC) as the custodians of the recreational game working closely with the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

As a County Board we are responsible for the development of cricket “From Playground to County Arena” striving to be the “Best in the business for the of developing cricket” and will focus on common strategic priorities that contribute to a single outcome measure to achieve More People / Playing More Frequently / In Teams.

Particular aims of the LCB are based around recruiting new players and developing the most talented players and in the main this is achieved through an inclusive approach to developing cricket in schools and clubs linked to a structured representative pathway.

The Minority Ethnic Community (MEC) Cricket Forum for Lancashire exists to promote cricket opportunities for the communities it represents and the South Asian Talent Search for 2016 is at the forefront of the current development planning.

Delivered by the LCB the program runs 12 talent ID trials across the county with a view to forming local squads of players from a South Asian background aged 16-23. These squads that partake in a Twenty20 Competition played at local clubs throughout July and August, following which a representative team is formed to take part in the ECB Lords Taverners City Cup Competition, a national tournament played in August and September.

At the forefront of this process is participation with exit routes into local club a priority however there is also a talent pathway element with local and national initiatives available should any player illustrate the capabilities to go on and play at a higher level.
