Burnley’s Daneshouse FC did not concede a single goal on route to winning a seven-a-side Championships Organised by Baitul Mukhram Masjid of Haslingden and kindly sponsored by Hall and Hanley, the competition attracted 28 teams from across the North West. A fantastic £3040 was raised for the new Baitul Mukhram Masjid on the day.

Daneshouse who have won this competition five times finished top of their group and then grinded their way to the final. In the quarters they came up against one of the favourites Elite FC and tore them apart in two scintillating minutes. In the semis against Sona they again defended deep and young Umer Ahmed scored the crucial goal moments after coming on.

Team HAML who had finished as runners up in the Coppice Community Cup looked comfortable in almost every game they played. After amassing 16 points in the group stages they went on to annihilate Galaticos (3-0) and Baitul Mukhram FC (2-0) before coming from behind to beat Underdogs (2-1).

In the final an early error by the Team HAML goalkeeper gifted Daneshouse the lead and despite a valiant fight back the Burnley side were unbreakable. Umer Ahmed getting the winning goal.
