A MANCHESTER United fan from Bradford saw his "dreams come true" when he got the chance to meet his footballing heroes this week.

Mohsin Tanveer, 24, who suffers from Duchenne muscular dystrophy, visited the club's training complex in Carrington during one of The Manchester United Foundation's bi-annual 'Dream Days'.

As well as meeting stars such as England captain Wayne Rooney, Mr Tanveer also had the audacity to present Red Devils' manager Louis van Gaal with a list of six transfer targets the club should try to sign over the summer.

"It really was a dream come true, a very special day," he said.

"All the first-team were there, and I got the chance to meet everyone, like Rooney, Carrick, and Mata.

"When I met Mr van Gaal, I gave him a list of six players we should sign, Mats Hummels, Nathaniel Clyne, Paul Pogba, Gareth Bale, Memphis Depay, and Jackson Martinez.

"He said thank you, and put the list in his pocket, saying he would pass it on to the directors."

Mr Tanveer, of Pollard Lane, Undercliffe, was diagnosed with his condition - a genetic complaint that causes weakening of the muscles - at the age of nine, and now uses a wheelchair for support.

As part of the Dream Day, which was aimed at fans suffering from life-limiting illnesses, he watched the first-team train before having the opportunity to meet them for pictures and autographs.

Manager Van Gaal, who was taking part in his first Dream Day, was said to be an instant hit with guests and explained the importance of this squad attending such events.

"The players are role models to the fans, and it’s good that they want to get involved," he said.

"It's not an obligation for them, they just do it, and I’m very happy that they all came along to support this."

Mr Tanveer, who hopes United can still push for a second-place finish in the Premier League this season, said he would remember the day for the rest of his life.

"I would like to say a big thank everyone at Manchester United, as the whole experience was just unforgettable," he said.

"And, if we can sign some of the players on my list, United should win the title next year!"
