Three Bolton cricket clubs have founded a new limited-over cricket competition for the 2014 season.

Bolton Cricket Club, Bolton Indians Sports Club and Deane and Derby Cricket Club are coming together following the folding of the Manchester and District Cricket Association.

Two twenty-five over matches per side will be played on Saturdays between 12 and 8 pm, on the grounds of the above three clubs.

Some matches may be played on Sundays subject to ground availability and the number of participating teams.

Unlike other limited over matches, only five named players are allowed to bowl the 25 overs, with no individual player bowling less than 4 or more than 7overs.

The remaining 6 players, including the wicket keeper, will only bat and not bowl. Named bowlers will only be allowed to bat from position 7 onwards.

Eight teams are already committed to the competition with another 4 required.

At the end of the competition, the winner of the competition, runners-up, best bowler, best batsman, best fielder and wicket keeper will receive appropriate recognition and prizes.

All players regardless of their cricketing status can participate as this competition is not part of any existing league.

Deadline for team registration is 1st April 2014 along with a fee of £50.

However all expressions of interest is requested by the end of February 2014. The season begins on 26th April 2014.

Applications are sought from companies (large and small), departmental teams of local government, clubs and individuals.

Anyone interested in joining the competition or willing to be the main or joint sponsor or needing further information should contact Mr Muqtadir on 07946 580275.
