WHEN setting up home, for many of us the ideal location is somewhere quiet, secluded, peaceful.
So to choose to the middle of a main road as just the spot to start a family is perhaps somewhat unorthodox.
But that’s exactly what a pair of nesting swans have done, after deciding to make home the middle of a stretch of road in the Gwent Levels near Newport.
And far from giving a neighbourly welcome to drivers sharing their home, the male of the pair has been seen to get aggressive and attack passing cars.
The woman who came across the couple, said: "If it is just the pen [female] on the nest then you can get round, but if the cob [male] is on the road too he’s really quite aggressive towards the cars.
"It’s not quite what expect to see," she laughed.
