This year's Fusion Awards took place on Saturday 24 May in the Premier Suite, Ewood Park, Blackburn Rovers Football Club.

We again attracted a wide range of people from different backgrounds and cultures and this was one of the reasons the awards were so successful.

We are now looking for nominations for next year's event.

From those working in a voluntary capacity to those reaching new heights in their chosen career - the Fusion Awards want to reward their endeavours.

The concept of the awards is to give recognition to those who take part in so much community work but do not always remain in the public domain.

All you have to do is simply e-mail us in no more than 150 words as to why you, your chosen person or your group should be nominated as a finalist for next year's event.

The categories are:

Community group of the Year

We want to hear from community and voluntary groups that make a valued contribution to the towns and city’s in which they reside.

Man of the year

Do you know a man who has excelled in the past year in their chosen career or has battled through against the odds?

Woman of the year

Do you know a woman who has excelled in the past year in their chosen career or has battled through against the odds?

Sports personality of the year

We are looking for sportsmen and women who through their efforts have inspired others to follow their dreams.

Media Professional of the year

Someone who has made a valued contribution in television, radio and press over past year.

Entreprenuer of the year

A businessman or woman who in the past year has seen their idea reach fruition.

Public Service Award

Will be awarded to a professional man or woman who have reached new heights in his or her chosen career.

Community Cohesion award

Will be awarded to someone or group who has helped breakdown cultural and religious barriers between communities through pioneering new work.
