A female friendly alternative to popular website lastminute.com has been set up by two British Asian women.

Afsha Mohamed, 28, and Anisa Malik, 27, both keen travellers, decided to combine their passion of trying out exciting activities with their dream of starting a business.

The website, butterflydeals.com, is aimed solely at women who want to try out new experiences at affordable prices.

Focusing mainly on travel, health and beauty and action and adventure activities, butterflydeals.com offers discounts of over 50% on a wide range of services.

There has already been a lot of interest about what the site has to offer and many women have asking questions about some of the deals.

Ms Mohamed said: “The website hopes to be a one-stop place for women to come who want to try something different whilst expanding their social network, boosting their confidence and meeting other like-minded fabulous women.

“The aim is to create a community in which regular customer can even enjoy special events organised by ButterflyDeals each month to bring all the lovely butterfly gals together!”

Ms Mohamed is particularly excited by a makeup and photo shoot deal, for which there has already been some interest in.

She believes that Asian women will be attracted to the site not only because the founders share a similar background, but also because some of the events will make it easier for them to access other women and meet up with them.

ButterflyDeals is currently aimed at providing deals for women, as this is a market both the owners know quite well, however the site may expand in the future, to make it more accessible for men too.
