Gun found in Manchester mosque grounds

A revolver has been recovered in the grounds of a mosque in Manchester.

Just before 8.20pm on Tuesday, police were called to the mosque on Hawkhurst Road in Longsight following reports of the discovery.

Officers went to the scene and the gun was forensically recovered.

Detectives are urging anyone with any information about who put the gun there, or who might have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area, to contact police on 0161 872 5050 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
