Newspapers reprint cartoons

Denmark's leading newspapers have reprinted a cartoon which depicts the Prophet Muhammad wearing a bomb-shaped turban.

The papers said they wanted to show their firm commitment to the 'freedom of speech' after the arrest in western Denmark of three people accused of plotting to kill the cartoonist.

"We are doing this to document what is at stake in this case, and to unambiguously back and support the freedom of speech that we as a newspaper always will defend," said the Copenhagen-based Berlingske Tidende.

The drawing by Kurt Westergaard and 11 other cartoons depicting Muhammad enraged Muslims two years ago when they appeared in a range of Western newspapers.

Tabloid Ekstra Bladet reprinted all 12 drawings.

Don't the Danish newspapers have anything else to print? This is blatent provocation. OK, so there's freedom of speech, I'm going to exercise my freedom of choice in boycotting anything Danish.

And Chaz76 I'm going to exercise my freedom of choice by looking at these cartoons. As an atheist I despise all forms of religion.

Well i think they should not be printed again but then again if the Muslims didnt go on a murderous rampage everytime then they might not bother. They only do it because they know it will prove thier point about Muslims throwing a fit. Everyone takes the **** out of most of the religions but they just ignore it. I think Muslims needs to react more with thier brains than with burning effigies, death threats and violence.
