A Ramadan ad featuring a suicide bomber has divided opinion.

The new ad from Middle Eastern telecommunications company, Zain, sees a suicide bomber on a bus.

The bomber is challenged by the Muslim passengers who plead to him with messages of love and tolerance.

Although the ad has induced praise, many were affronted by a character who symbolised Omran Daqneesh, the boy whose photo in the back of an ambulance went viral after an attack in Syria last year.  He was in fact injured by a Syrian airstrike.

People have criticised Zain for using terrorism to advertise their product.

The ad has over 3,699,317 views since being shared on YouTube five days ago.
