'MummyJi Presents'.. A British Asian talent show
During a dream, Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, calls upon MummyJi to find and launch new British Asian talent.
Taking on this important duty, she has searched all over the UK for up-and-coming singers, dancers and musicians and is now ready to introduce them to the world… from her living room!
This autumn, Rifco Arts and Watford Palace Theatre bring you ‘MummyJi Presents’ – an entertaining and fun-filled live show and digital series providing a new creative platform for performers to
showcase their skills.
The series will be shown on The Space www.thespace.org over the coming weeks and culminate in a Live Show at Watford Palace Theatre that will also be streamed live online on 11th October.
The host and Queen of bling saris – MummyJi, is thrilled to be doing her part to help launch new British Asian talent. Following a national search, MummyJi has invited 9 exciting acts, her posse of
aunties and a camera crew to her luxurious house in the leafy suburbs for a cup of sweet milky tea, some gup-shup (a chat) and lots
of entertainment.
On Thursday, 11th October 2012, the stage at Watford Palace Theatre will be converted into MummyJi’s larger than life, bright and extravagant desi living room; ready to host a variety of
spectacular performances and comedy for ‘MummyJi Presents Live Show’. J
The show will also be breaking new ground. For the first time audiences will be able to enjoy all the splendour and amusement of a Rifco Arts show from anywhere in the world as it is streamed live
and direct from Watford Palace Theatre as it happens.

Log onto on The Space throughout September and October for the ‘MummyJi Presents’ online series and watch as the candid and hilarious MummyJi introduces you to each of the talented performers and
gives you a preview of their performances:
• Episode 1 from 21st September: Sufi and Qawwali influenced singer Ali Abbas, classical Indian musician Soumik Datta and Bhangra fusion group Asian Street Remix.
• Episode 2 from 28th September: Indie girl band The Tuts, body popper Muntaqa Dar and singer-songwriter Kuran Doh.
• Episode 3 from 5th October: Ministry of Dhol, Hindi singer-songwriter Rita Morar and deaf Bollywood dancer Nehal Bhogaita.
‘MummyJi Presents’ is brought to you by the same team behind successful shows like ‘Britain’s Got Bhangra’, ‘There’s something about Simmy’ and ‘Where’s my desi soulmate?’. The show is directed and
written by Pravesh Kumar. MummyJi is played and devised by Rifco Arts favourite - Rina Fatania.
