Around 200 people attended North West Kent Muslim Association's exhibition in Crayford

NORTH West Kent Muslim Association opened its doors to non-Muslims for the day to create closer community ties.

Around 200 people attended the free exhibition at the former Methodist Church, in Crayford High Street.

There was food, henna hand painting and activities for children on offer as well as display panels with information about Islam.

People were able to ask members questions and were given a tour of the building.

They were also given a free gift pack which included an English translated Quran.

Syed Alam, who helped organise the event, said: "It was nice. It was a social mingle with the community. We tried to break down misconceptions about Islam."
