Racists who taunted an Asian family filmed their victims on a mobile phone.
The four men abused the couple and their children as they made their way towards ASDA on Sutton High Street on June 28 at about 7.30pm.
The men, who were in a dark blue car that had stopped at the zebra crossing outside the first floor car park entrance, threw a cup of liquid over the family and shouted racial abuse.
The family were not physically hurt, but one of the passengers in the rear of the car is believed to have filmed the incident on his mobile phone A police spokesman said the men laughed and drove off towards the exit.
Detective Constable Christopher Tiffin said: “This behaviour is utterly unacceptable and we want anyone who was in the area at the time to help us catch these offenders.”
The men were about 18-20 years, of slim build and the man holding the mobile phone had short, light coloured hair.
The car is believed to be a Peugeot and may be around ten years old.
