FAISAL Rashid says it would be 'an incredible shame' if a minority of people behaving in an 'unacceptable manner' forced MPs to become less accessible.

It comes after Tory MP Jacob Rees-Mogg was involved in a scuffle after protestors disrupted an event at the University of the West of England that he was speaking at on Friday night.

Labour's Warrington South MP Mr Rashid said: "Regardless of their politics, every MP should feel safe as they are carrying out their duties.

"I am aware it is an issue for many of my colleagues.

"I thoroughly enjoying meeting my constituents and listening to their concerns, it is without doubt my favourite part of my job.

"It would be an incredible shame if a minority of people behaving in an unacceptable manner forced MPs to become less accessible to their constituents but, ultimately, ensuring people's safety must be the priority."
