Police are appealing for information on the whereabouts of an 18-year-old.

Mariyam Hussain was last seen in Blackburn around 6pm on January 4th. She has links to the town as well as Brierfield and Nelson.

She is described as Asian, 5ft 5in tall, of medium build with shoulder length dark brown bushy hair.

She was wearing a pink jumper, black skirt, black tights and carrying a dark red handbag at the time of her disappearance.

Police posted a message on their Facebook page stated they growing increasingly concerned for Mariyam's welfare and urge anyone with information to contact them on 101 quoting log reference 1478 of 5 January.
