UCLan’s School of Management aims to nurture and develop global managers of the future through leading edge Business and Management programmes, shaped by the latest research, professional practice, innovative business insight and international opportunities.

With a focus on providing an inspirational student experience, Nasim Natha, who is currently studying BA (Hons) Business and Management, shares her experiences of studying at UCLan.

She said: “I chose to study at UCLan because of the outstanding reputation the Management School has.

"My course is broad, and allows me the opportunity to get a taste of every aspect of business as a discipline, which proves beneficial when applying for graduate jobs.

“Out of all the universities I visited, UCLan made the best impression on me. The university atmosphere is like no other - socially and educationally.

“Support from tutors is outstanding, I cannot think of anything negative to say about UCLan – whatever problem you have, there is always someone to turn to here.”

Nasim has also had the opportunity to act as Course Representative, which takes forward student opinion.

Nasim added: “Election as Course Representative has enabled me to represent the Business and Management course and make positive changes. Likewise, I am proud to represent the University when working on Higher Education awareness days as a UCLan Student Ambassador.”

Speaking of other opportunities at hand, Nasim said: “Other opportunities presented to you, as a student at UCLan, are amazing.

“The careers team provide remarkable support throughout all aspects of employability, opportunities to study abroad, opportunities to start your own societies and provisions to help you start your own business.”

UCLan also has the LaunchPad leadership development programme, which is unique to the School of Business and the School of Management.

The programme provides students with opportunities to enhance their professional skills. Nasim said: “I was selected to be a part of this prestigious programme as a result of my highly innovative approach and my determination to meet all challenges set.”

As advice to anyone who is thinking of studying at UCLan, Nasim said: “It’s okay to be nervous – speaking to people who are in the same situation as you does help.

“The University as a whole is amazing and I would advise you to take every opportunity that comes your way. Studying at UCLan is by far the best decision I ever made. Make yours today! The University has provided me with a great range of opportunities and support, which I would not have had elsewhere.”

The School of Management offers a varied range of management related courses, with foundation entry also available.
