Detectives are hunting a suspected sex attacker who subjected two women to "terrifying ordeals".

CCTV footage has been released of an Asian man, aged between 25 and 35, thought to have targeted the victims in Clapham, south London.

In the first attack, at around 2am on Sunday May 22, he followed a woman into the communal hallway of flats in Clapham Common South Side and sexually assaulted her. She managed to fight him off and he ran away.

About a month later, on Sunday June 26, again at 2am, he sexually assaulted a 27-year-old woman in Klea Avenue, after sneaking up behind her and pushing her into the communal area of some flats.

She managed to scratch him in the face with her key, close to his left eye, and he ran off.

The suspect is about 5ft 5in, has short black hair and spoke with an English accent.

He was caught on CCTV near the scene of both attacks and on Tuesday police released footage in a bid to identify him. Investigators had previously released still images.

Detective Inspector Andrew Wadey said: "We are extremely keen to identify this man in connection with these incidents and appeal to anyone with any information to come forward as soon as possible. These incidents were terrifying ordeals for both victims."
