Guests enjoyed a special preview showing of Disney's The Jungle Book movie.

The 3D showing was held last night at the Odeon Cinema, Printworks. Among those at the feature were Emmerdale stars Fiona Wade, Bhasker Patel and Joe Warren. Citizen Khan star Abdullah Afzal was also joined by Afshan Azad, model Zaf Shabir, musicians Maz from Bonafide and Metz and Trix.

The overwhelming reviews after the film were mostly positive. Yasser said, “It is really good family movie and it is great that they feature the songs from the original movie.”

Hashim, aged, 12 told us, “The special effects are really good everyone loved it.”

Ali Sarwar said, “As someone who loved the Jungle Book as a kid it was great to be able to bring my own kids back to watch this version.

“Some films are not all that different in 3D but this is fantastic.”

Sal aged 10 told us, "I especially liked Shere Khan and Baloo. I would watch it again."

Zul Hussain from the Fishwick Youth Development Scheme said "We don't normally get opportunities like this at all. So, it was great to be invited.

"The parents were all texting last night saying their children thoroughly enjoyed the movie.

"A big thank you for the invitations." Imran said, “Great movie and just about the right length.

Bill Murray and Christopher Walken are brilliant.”

The film also features the voices of Idris Elba and Scarlett Johansson. Newcomer Neel Sethi as Mowgli steals the show though.

Directed by Jon Favreau it is based on Rudyard Kipling’s timeless stories and inspired by Disney’s classic animated film, “The Jungle Book”.

The movie is out today in cinemas nationwide
