British woman, Varsha Maisuria is still missing after a plane crash in Mexico.

Whilst skydiving, an incident occurred which saw Varsha entangled with the aircraft’s undercarriage. Subsequently a parachute deployed which caused the loss of the aircraft over sea, resulting in it sinking to a depth believed to be 1000 metres.

Despite an intensive search effort, Varsha is yet to be found.

Her family said in a statement, “Today marks a week since the disappearance of our beloved daughter and sister Varsha Maisuria.

"We are asking the media and the public for their help in keeping the story alive and the search and rescue mission ongoing - it must not stop.

"The family are completely overwhelmed and would like to thank our friends and family for their support. You are keeping us strong during this difficult time.

"Thank you to everyone for sharing our social media updates and also to the ‪‎Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the ‪Lucie Blackman Trust, and the local search and rescue team ‪‎PCJalisco in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

"If anyone was in Puerto Vallarta and saw Varsha during their stay, or if you witnessed this terrible crash please get in touch via matt@lbtrust.org as we really need your help.

"We are desperate that all efforts continue under all circumstances so our beloved Varsha can come back home to the family.”
