A man has been charged over the murder of a woman whose was found dead in a hotel room.
The body of Nadine Aburas, 28, was found at the Future Inn in Cardiff on December 31.
Sammy Almahri was arrested by police agencies in Tanzania, east Africa, at the end of January.
He was then extradited to the UK to be interviewed in connection with Ms Aburas's murder.
The 44-year-old US national made a brief appearance at Cardiff Magistrates' Court today and made no plea before being remanded in custody.
The international search for Almahri came after an emotional appeal from Ms Aburas's mother.
Andrea Aburas said her daughter was "a beautiful and kind-hearted girl. She would never hurt anyone, she just wanted to help people".
South Wales Police said they were grateful to the Tanzanian authorities for their assistance in securing the arrest of Almahri and the Crown Prosecution Service for their part in ensuring a "prompt extradition".
