Suspect robbed five cabbies

Police are hunting a robber who attacked five taxi drivers in Bradford.

Drivers were urged to be cautious and take extra care when accepting fares.

On each occasion the suspect chatted to the drivers and asked them if they had had a busy night before attacking them and demanding money.

The suspect is described as an Afro Caribbean or West Indian male, aged 16 to 20, between 5ft 5ins and 6ft tall with short black hair.

He is of slim build and has a Bradford accent. During the five attacks he wore a black hooded top and dark bottoms.

Detective Inspector Mabs Hussain, of Bradford South CID, said: "I would urge taxi drivers to be careful when picking up fares. If they're not sure about someone, don't take them.

"If they pick someone up and then realise there may be a problem, drive to a public place and contact the police."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Det Insp Hussain on 0845 6060606.
