A woman and her family raised over £2,000 for Rosemere Cancer Foundation by organising a family fun day to say thank you for the support her mother has received whilst receiving treatment for cancer.

Kulsoom Satia and her family are celebrating a triumphant weekend of fundraising for Rosemere Cancer Foundation.

Kulsoom organised an action packed itinerary of family activities including bouncy castle, mendhi, a clothes, cake and jewellery sale and a BBQ, all to raise money for Rosemere’s work within the community supporting cancer patients and their families.

The event took place over two weekends at A&S Hall on Fort Street Industrial Estate in Blackburn.

Kulsoom’s mother Raviya Mohamed has been receiving treatment at Royal Preston and Royal Blackburn Hospitals for Cancer for the past year.

Dan Hill, Area Fundraising Coordinator at Rosemere Cancer Foundation, said: “Kulsoom has done a fantastic job organising this event and then going on to raise over £2k for Rosemere. In addition to the much needed funds, it’s fantastic to see that the local community engaging with the charity and our work.”

Kulsoom Satia, said:“The level of care we have received from Rosemere has been fantastic. Our aim was that with the help and support of our local community we can encourage people to get involved with their local cancer charity.

“I would like to thank all those who worked so hard and I would like to thank local businesses who donated so generously including my family and friends, all volunteers, local Councillors and my Husband.”
